"Mayonnaise" is one of those words in English that are so hard to spell because they come from French originally. When someone wanted to say a thing was very classy, they gave it a French name. And Folks, when mayonnaise was first invented, it was a rare and wonderful thing.
Think about it: an egg-rich condiment which goes with so many other flavors in loving harmony, suddenly available even to people who do not have particularly good refrigeration, as long as they keep it reasonably cool and use it up relatively quickly once they've opened it. So it was early on realized that it was an excellent thing to put up in jars, and here we are. It is very stable while it is still in the jar as long as it does not get too terrible extremes of cold; you will ruin its texture if you freeze it. But as I say, a natural for the canning process which is, after all, pretty old technology in essence. Mason jars have been around for a long, long time.
Opening: just arm yourself with a small section of thin and relatively flexible, but sturdy, rubber with a textured surface. It will add enough grip to yours that your normal arm strength should give you little trouble. If not, what are hungry young sons [grandsons?] for, if they want you to make them sandwiches and salads, eh? Self-interest will enlist their aid easily enough, I think.

By the way, "du" is spelled "do", "yew" is spelled "you" unless your reffering to the wood used to make bows as in "bows and arrows". Finally "gewd" is spelled "good."
To open the jar you would first have to evolve and develop opposable thumbs.
Then turn the lid counter clockwise.
Failing that you can always use a rock.

I was told that they were due to ancient archery laws (Henry 8th). I live next to a church and they are causing a lot of shadow to fall on my house. My neighbor said I could do nothing as they are protected. Could they be punned or thinned without the need for permission or could the church thin them without seeking permission? If permission is needed, were is it obtained.

A person can also inherit a sickle cell gene from one parent and a different kind of abnormal gene from the other and end up with a different form of sickle cell disease, such as hemoglobin SC disease or hemoglobin S-thalassemia.
Someone who inherits only one sickle cell gene and a normal gene from the other parent will have the sickle cell trait, but not the disease.
When both parents have the sickle cell trait, there's a 25% chance that a child will have sickle cell disease. But when one parent is carrying the trait and the other actually has the disease, the odds increase to 50% that their child will inherit the disease.
I would suggest consulting with a genetic counselor if you are thinking of getting pregnant %26amp; worried about passing the disease to the baby. Since you do know that you carry the trait, you would also need to have your spouse tested to be positively sure.
If after testing, your husband was found to have a normal gene.... then your child would just inherit the trait not the disease, like in your case. Hope this information is helpful.

it gets sun all afternoon and of course in summer it can get very hot. its planted in with roses, hydrangeas, hostas, ferns.
is it the sun/heat getting to it?
or could it be the other plants aren't compatible?
should i move it to a hotter spot or a cooler spot? help!

Yews take full sun to part shade. The sun probably is not the reason this yew is doing poorly. How often does your yew get watered? What had Lew Kuan Yew contributed to Singapore?
Lee Kwan Yew took control of Singapore when the Brits relinquished it. He first agreed for it to be part of the contemporaneously independent Malaya, under - what was that bloke's name, a Chinese Muslim ? But later, when Mahathir Mohammed took over Malaya, fell out with him (not surprisingly - Mahathir was an intransigent power-lover) and set up the little island as a separate state. From then on he guided it with great determination and a very wise and steady hand to it's present prosperous and very well ordered condition. He didn't have to be quite as ruthless as Mahathir in suppressing opposition, but he was firm and quite a few opponents spent many many years in Changi prison. His message was : "no corruption" and the result made every law-abiding, hard-working Singaporean, economically comfortable. He devised a very successful capitalist socialism, long before China, and made all his people proud of their country, and rightly so. It was he who told that little Chinese Commie bloke - what was his name? - now revered in the PRC as the father of "opening up" to do it, when the little chap was visiting Singapore to get away from the horrors of the Cultural Revolution. I lived in Singers for a year and used to like to read Lee's daily articles in the Straits Times : he was always spot on target. I could go on for ages about this great man, but it's my bed-time. The local authority had supplied a plaque recognising the importance of the Ancient Yew Tree.
Being 4000 years old it is one of the oldest living things on the planet. You don't get much more important than that!
For those who like spooky stories, I kept getting a green glow from the heart of the tree when viewing the pictures.

Tree plantings in these locations are for beautification, aesthetics if you will; i.e. peaceful, quieting and sound absorbing for the benefit of the visitors. From the cemetery maintenance point of view -- they are a pain in the butt with falling leaves, branches, and require more time to mow the grass for dodging the trees.

Tree plantings in these locations are for beautification, aesthetics if you will; i.e. peaceful, quieting and sound absorbing for the benefit of the visitors. From the cemetery maintenance point of view -- they are a pain in the butt with falling leaves, branches, and require more time to mow the grass for dodging the trees.

I had a friend who's parents were getting divorced and it was hard. She was broken up and I knew I had to be there. I would always ask how she was doing but not being pushy and looking like I was digging for info. I would take her out to museums and the theatre. I would cook for her and we would go back and forth with that a few times. I just had to make sure that she was content and knew she could always talk to me. As soon as my friend started to say 'I just want to sleep all day', I picked her up, said we are not doing this and we started going to a kick boxing class. It is a good idea to have your friend not always thinking about it. It is always great to get your mind off of the negative and focus on the positive. Just be supportive and Listen.

dyeing your hair with kool aid and it being a temp thing will depend on your hair color. If you are blonde it will stain for a long time. other colors not so much.
Because it is such a strong stain, I would use stuff designed to be temp hair colors - manic panic, or colored mousse found at Sally Beauty Supply or other beauty supply outlets.
If you are dead set on doing it, add just enough water to make a paste and soak down the part or parts you want colored. Wear gloves so you wont stain your hands.
