I had a friend who's parents were getting divorced and it was hard. She was broken up and I knew I had to be there. I would always ask how she was doing but not being pushy and looking like I was digging for info. I would take her out to museums and the theatre. I would cook for her and we would go back and forth with that a few times. I just had to make sure that she was content and knew she could always talk to me. As soon as my friend started to say 'I just want to sleep all day', I picked her up, said we are not doing this and we started going to a kick boxing class. It is a good idea to have your friend not always thinking about it. It is always great to get your mind off of the negative and focus on the positive. Just be supportive and Listen.
