Basically, from the recent reports, the Military government in Myanmar are very stubborn and they are practically selfish. With the social situations are so tense and fired up right now in Myanmar and if the situation still continues to deteriorate, the entire country's economy will be at stake and it will ultimately corner the military government, leaving them no way to flee. The worst case scenario is the entire government is being stripped off and another power country steps in to build a new government.
If the military government is wise enough, they would have appease their countrymen and not have resorted to the most unwise move: violence. Since history times, it is obvious that once any government started to use violence on their own people, the government is practically "committing suicide".
